Hi,

I am hoping that someone can help me with a problem I am
having running XP. Every now and then on a random basis
I will click with the mouse or enter something on the
keyboard and the system shuts down. Upon rebooting I get
a failure system error message as follows: DOCUME~1
\OEM\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER.1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

I have scanned my system with Norton 2004, have put in
all microsoft updates, and yet I still get random shut
down errors. I am new to using XP and am at my wits end
trying to figure out what the problem may be. Help would
be really appreciated.

Thanks, Pegi

I'm not sure that you have a software problem. You could be having a
hardware failure of some kind, perhaps RAM, hard drive, or power
supply. I'd do some hardware diagnoses. Also, just in case software
*is* the culprit, look in Event Viewer for clues. Post back if you need
more help.
