Have you made any changes recently?

Delete the minidump file in your c:\windows\minidump folder.

Check event viewer, your system and application logs for any error messages
or warnings.

Check device manager for any indication of a problem. Run a virus and
sypware scan. Run chkdsk on your hard drive.

Check for updates for your operating system online using windows update if
you have not been doing so.

Make sure all critical updates are downloaded.

You might want to upgrade to sp2.

what does this mean???

Set the computer to *not* automatically restart on error by going to the
System applet in Control panel, then Advanced>Startup &
Recovery>Settings and under System Failure uncheck "Automatically
Restart". The next time the machine crashes you'll get a blue screen
with a Stop Error. Write down the Stop Error and look it up here:

http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

Post back with the Stop Error if you need help after looking at the
information at the site above.

He has posted the Stop Code (BCC or Bug Check Code).

The above is from Event Viewer and below is how the above would appear on a blue screen.

0xA(0x00000058, 0x000000FF, 0x00000001, 806C8AA8)

thank you all for your help........after I got on yesterday.......the pc just
won't come on.....it sounds as if starting up then just stops, keeps starting
up then stops.......eventually I got on today.......I will ty to check the
problem further as you all suggested. Can I delete the files in the minidump
though? That would not affect anything? btw what is the minidump? I will try
it.......thank you

Yes......it was changed.....I was away and my sister took it to a computer
store and they changed the hard drive......and don't know what
else.......BUT, it was having the same trouble a few months after I bought
it.........won't start up.......sounds like it's starting, then
stops.....then keeps going like that. I don't know.......lol

Sounds suspiciously like a powersupply problem. Either it failed or
somethings pulling too much current for it to handle. (I suggest a shop
look at it)
