I'm not sure what a friend of mine has done, but his computer keeps on
shutting down, when he starts up and his desk top just starts to load on the
screen. I'm still very new to computering and my friend is the same. Not sure
wether its his windows X.P. home edition, or something he's downloaded or
installed!!! It would be a great help if some-one could help us out, and if
possible, say what this error messege means and what can be done about it(if
anything is possible).

Just like to say, Thank you for any help(if possible)!!!
Hope to hear from some-one soon.

Much apprecation, john.

Hi,
I found if I use Google and just paste the entire message into the
Google search bar-It will find alot of related info.

I've never used this site, so be extreeeemly careful in doing so. Maybe
research it a bit. But just googling won't do it. You need to find something
that can actually decipher the (as always) non-sensicle errors as written in
Windows.

http://www. gregorybraun.com/MSWinErr.html

Remove the space after "www." That was just the first I found, so you can
look for other sites that can decipher the error. (And use Live dot com.
Better then Google IMO).

And as always, run some anti-spyware, -malware, etc programs to keep
everything clean.

Good luck with it.

Finding out what it means is one thing. Fixing it is another.

And to fix it you will probably have to get the computer to boot into
Windows in some way.

Try booting the computer into Safe Mode. To do this turn the
computer on and start tapping the F8 key rapidly just as soon as the
first information of any kind shows on the screen. Keep tapping
rapidly until the Windows XP Startup Menu appears and choose Safe Mode
from the menu.

If the Windows XP opening screen appears you have missed the startup
menu. You need to restart the computer and try again.

If the computer starts okay in Safe Mode then use Control Panel -
System - Advanced and click on the Settings button in the Startup and
Recovery (bottom) section. In the Startup and Recovery window click
on the checkbox for "automatically restart" to clear it then click on
Apply and OK as needed to exit.

That should put an end to the restarting. It may, however, be
replaced by a "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP error message. If that does
happen then the contents of the STOP error message, especially the
STOP code, all 4 parameters that follow it, and any file or module
names mentioned will be a direct clue as to the underlying cause of
the problem.

If the computer also will not start up successfully in Safe Mode then
your next best option will be to try a Repair Install of your Windows
XP as per the instructions at
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Note that doing a Repair Install requires an actual Windows XP
Installation CD and many new computers that come with Windows XP
preinstalled (these are called OEM versions) do not provide an
installation CD. Instead what they provide is either a "system
recovery" disk or a hidden "system recovery" partition on the hard
drive. Neither of these situations allow you to do an actual Repair
Install although some of the OEMs do provide an option in their System
Recovery procedures that allows you to retain the installed
applications and user data files.

Hope this is of some assistance.

Good luck
