System crashes - fatal error message

In the last month I have been experiencing a systme crash
in xp for no obvious reason. I thought to start with it
ws to do with the Cd. It now will happen when starting,
in word and on the web. I have AVG anti virus. I have
tried rolling back reloadin software and still get no
where.

Ideas??

start>control panel>administrative tools> event viewers-here you look
for application error logs.Here you can find what's exactly causing you
problem.
