System Crash .. NOT BLASTER please HELP ME!!

About three weeks ago I posted on here about how my
computer will suddenly crash without warning. I got a few
responses telling me I had the Blaster virus, so I
immediately set about the task of removing it. However ..
when my computer shuts down I never recieve a warning
with a timer countdown .. it's completly unexpected.

I have tried everything I could find about the blaster
virus and removal including alot of other virus fixes and
I have enabled the firewall, I am running Norton, and I
followed instructions on how to remove the virus manually
and couldn't find a trace of it. I wouldn't be surprised
if my computer crashes before I'm done typing this.

My question is .. has anyone else maybe ran into similar
problems with removing the blaster virus and could you
maybe pass me some info on how to rid myself of this POS
or and this is my new theory

Could I maybe have a different problem. Now my comp does
do this without warning .. and while it does happen just
while I'm surfing the net ... for the most part it
happens without fail every time I log into a MMORPG
called Star Wars Galaxies. If I try to play that game it
happens usually with the first three minutes of logging
on without fail. Hope that helps someone to help me ..
feel free to email with questions and suggestions if you
think you can help me out.

Sounds like your video card driver or your video card or the heat in your
system.

Try putting a fan blowing into your opened case.
Try updating your video card driver.

Thanks for the two suggestions but neither will work for
me. I have tried the Welchia fix about three dozen or so
times along with the blaster fix too ... still get random
shutdowns. I also removed the cover to my pc and put a
fan blowing on it and got the same effects ...

any more suggestions?

Hi,
even though you say youve ensured its not a virus, all the
symptoms point at it.
Ensure you apply the latest microsoft critical updates
then restart.
Do a search for a tool called stinger.exe ( I think its on
NAI.com but I amnt entirely sure)
This will search and remove about 35 viri types from your
machine. There are about 3 viri which display this
behaviour.
Good Luck,
JP
