System CPU Usage around 70%

My system isconsistantly showing the following:
Image Name = System
User Name = (blank)
CPU Usage = 60 - 75%
Memory Usage = 20 - 216K

The performane of my machine degraded recently and this
may have something to do with it. Any ideas what's going
on?
