System Configuration Utility & Startup Folder/Tab

Hello everyone:

I felt your pain about removing those useless/removed/uninstalled programs
that were left behind in the Startup folder (Startup Tab in the System
Configuration Utility). So, I did some research of my own to find the fix.

Here's how I fixed mine. I have Windows XP Home Edition.

1. Click Start; click Run; type regedit; click OK. Follow this path:
HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\Startup Folder.
(Sounds like what your're looking for, right?)

2. After you find all those programs listed, as always with the registry,
be very careful of what you delete.

3. When you're done with the Startup Folder there, take a look at the
"startupreg" and the other folder listed there. You might find this very
interesting and helpful too.

4. I'd be very interested to hear from all of you who haven't found your
solution - until perhaps now. Heck, contact me anyway. I just wanted to
know if I helped at all.

5. Thank you very much for your time and attention.

6. NetWorking increases our NetWorth, right? (I'm going to patent that...:)

Creating a System Restore point would be advisable
before running RegEdit.

Wish one could do that before turning your raft into a class 5 rapids :)
