System Cloning Tool

Hi

A short Q about System Cloning Tool.

After I have run FBA i need to do some konfiguration of the image. Make a
internet connection via Modem, some WLAN settings etc.

Is it then possible to re-seal WinXPe, so that I can clone that image ?
I simply need to have the cloning ability after I have konfigured WInXPe
right !!

Yes, it is possible:
In System cloning tool->advanced you must set cmiresealphase=0; (there are
olso other properties yuo can set here).
After You have run FBA and made configuration, you must open command promp
window and exec. fbreseal.
When the system shut down, you are ready to clone the image.

I remember that in pre-SP1 times this resealing didn't create the
EWF-Partition after cloning so it couldn't be done on systems that
require it. Has this also changed?

No,

But for EWF based on RAM overlay partition in not required.

This is not correct (or it has changed with SP1): without a minimum left
free space on disk there's no RAM overlay.

Just to avoid misunderstandings:
When using RAM EWF overlay I had (before SP1) to run the full FBA
process on every machine. Otherwise EWF didn't run (overlay partition,
at least 32MB, was not created in the left free diskspace during the
final FBA process).
My question was if this is fixed. Or in other words: what do I have to
do to get RAM overlay EWF on my cloned machines without running through
the whole FBA process? Just setting cmiResealPhase=0, cloning the
machine and running fbreseal doesn't do the job ("Failed settings
protected volume configuration with error 87").

Hi,
Go to www.xpefiles.com

And download ramewf.zip. There is doc file that will explain you how to
configure EWF without extra partition.

Wow, that's exactly what I need...
How do you store the information about the state after next boot if
there's no partition that does it?
