I can't remember the Microsoft convention for the Boot and
System partitions for NT/2k.

Am I correct in saying the system partition is the root of
the drive, and the boot partition is the rest of the disk,
or is it the other way around..?

Thanks in advance

Russ

Yeah, you got it. It's easy to remember if you understand that in
Microsoft-speak, you start *booting* from the *system* partition and load
the operating *system* from the *boot* partition. Microsoft always did like
to make up their own rules.

Russ -
- the system partition is the one with ntldr, boot.ini (hidden), and a
few other boot-time files that load and initiate the OS.
- the boot partition is the one with the %system% directory (usually
\winnt) on it.
Don't ask. (The Help files also explain this curious nomenclature.)
