System Backup

Steve

I was wanting to back up my files for the first time, but
when I went to accessories and system tools, there is no
option listed for backup, only restore system. What do I
do?

In XP Home Edition backup isn't installed by default:
Go to the valueadd\msft\ntbackup folder on the XP Home Edition cd and
install ntbackup manually by double clicking the file.

The above assumes you have a retail version. If your CD was supplied by
your system manufacturer, they often don't include this utility. If you
have a recovery partition, you can check their for ntbackup but if it
doesn't exist there, I would recommend what someone else in this thread
recommended, BackUp MyPC, www.stomp.com. They have a fully functional free
trial available for download. XP's backup is made by the same people and
the version at Stomp is more robust and full featured.
