After booting up computer and all the icons on the
desktop appear, a System 32 box/window opens up. This is
a recent development and I don't know what prompted it to
suddenly start appearing. I run Win XP home edition.
Why is this happening, what does it mean, and how do I
stop it? Can anyone out there help me?

Search this group, and any other you posted to, for SYSTEM32. A common
query that generates many replies.

I would suggest using system restore to fix your problem. If you know when
this started happening and you haven't done anything to the system in that
time, pick a restore point that is just before the time that the problem
first occurred.

HTH

Start => Run : "msconfig"
Then go the startup tab and you will find all programs to
start with windows.
If you didn't find it there , and i think you won't find
it, go start => all programs => startup. See if you will
find it there.
