Hello,
Sorry about the long post, but...
I created an image for Windows XP Pro with Office and
some other programs for a business on a custom-built
400Mhz Pentium II. No problems building a Ghost Image
nad using sysprep to reseal and run a mini-setup. It all
seemed to work ok, however the environment I run in has
multiple PC Vendors. I restored the image from the
custom-pc to a Dell Dimension 400Mhz PC with 192MB
Memory. The restore wen't fine and the system deted the
hardware and boots fine, however launching applications
and working with the system is slower than normal
(eventhough XP on a 400Mhz is slow). And some of the
applications they run are network-vended, of which some
of the PC's have to be forced to 10Mbps due to noise on
the lines, but they insist the slowness is on the general
system and applications such as Office that are installed
locally. The only other problem I have seen is I keep
getting ASPI Errors in the event logs. Could Sysprep
have caused the PC's to run slow? Or does anyone have
any ideas on how to easily speed these up (without the
obvious buy new computers option)

Thank you,
Nathan

Using Ghost to image one machine, and then deploy onto another with
different hardware specs is not a wise idea. Just like installing Windows
and then upgrading your system without a full re-installation of Windows is
unwise.
You are better off using an RIS deployment or an unattended system so that
the OS is actually deployed and doesn't have to re-detect and make any
changes to its hardware settings and HAL.
