I am building 5 identical computers using XP Pro SP1A. I installed the OS
and all applications on the first machine. I then ran Windows update and
installed 34 updates of 37 available. I have 5 separate copies of XP pro.
The computers wil be on a peer to peer network.
I then expanded deploy.cab into C:\sysprep and ran setupmgr to generate the
sysprep.inf file. I then ran sysprep and sealed the computer.
I used ghost and imaged the first hard drive onto a new hard drive and
booted the next computer on the second drive. All applications are there and
work fine. I then ran windows update and it reported that 37 updates were
available. I then booted up on the original drive and windows update
reported 37 updates were available.
What happened to the updates after I ran sysprep and is there anything I can
do to preserve the updates when doing a sysprep so I don't have to patch
each computer?
Thanks
