sys tray::disappearing internet connection icon

g'day there... am hoping someone might have the answer to why i have a
disappearing internet connection icon from the system tray.

at times when i do a reboot/reinstall/enable my wireless network connection
it appears and sometimes it doesn't. i don't have any issues connecting to
the 'net - just like to see my connection speed.

also if i've posted my question in the wrong forum pls let me know so i can
go and find the answer from there

I think that's Win Xp's bug, I had this issue before. There is no fix for this.

But some suggested to reduced other icons might do the trick. I have also
found this helpful hint.
