SyncToy won't download because of GenuineWindows tool

I am excited about what I hear about the SyncToy tool, but I can't get it to
try it out!

The GenuineWindows tool will not run because it says there is a later
version but none is offered. I believe this may be cause because I ran the
Microsoft Update tool to validate Windows. It appears that this prevents the
individual tool from functioning.

Is there anyway around this problem or other way to download the SyncToy tool?

Same thing happended to me. If I remember correctly, the words "Genuine
Windows" in the error message were a highlighted link. Clicking on them
downloaded the most recent version.
