SyncToy doesn't see some CHANGEs in updated JPEG photos

For sorting purposes, I like my file date-times to remain the same, and many
editing tools allow you to keep that unchanged (because others want to do the
same thing as I). So, when I update metadata like EXIF date/time info, the
file size stays the same and SyncToy doesn't "see" and copy the changed file.

The only way I've found to get this to work is to have a Sync program
(SyncBack) look for newly set "Archive" attributes (being sure to have the
program re-set or "clear" all "Archive" attributes AFTER a sync.

Please change SyncToy to "find" metadata differences even when size and date
are unchanged - or add the check/copy/clear ARCHIVE attribute option.

THANKS!

Hi Jay,

You should use the "Check File Contents" option in SyncToy for detecting
changes in your jpeg files. This will make your sync go somewhat slower
because we hash the file contents and compare the result to the previously
stored hash. This is supported in the SyncToy 2.0 Beta - please try it out
and let us know how it goes.

Thanks

That just HAS to be WAY too slow. SyncBack has that option as well, but I
like some of the tracking features of SyncToy. Can you do archive
checking/clearing?
