Marvin VanHaaften,
It sounds that you have a message that is stuck in the Outbox folder, and is
hanging the send/receive process of your accounts.
1. You may need to move the message out of the outbox. And see if Outlook
will complete the Send/Receive function. If it does, then there is a problem
with a message that was in the Outbox. It might be that the message is
corrupted in some way, or your outgoing mail server, is having trouble
sending the message.
2. You may also want to increase the timeout setting for the account that
you are having problems with. Especially if you are sending emails with
large attachments.
In Outlook2003 (Similar path in other versions of Outlook)> TOOLS> Email
Accounts> View or Change Email Accts> Select the Acct you having problems>
Change button> More Settings button> Advance tab> Increase the TimeOut
setting. You might to do this to all your accts, if you send these large
messages through Outlook.
3. If you have email scanning through your AV or other third party program,
such as McAfee or Norton, you need to turn it off. Sometimes it is necessary
to uninstall the program completely, and do a "custom" installation, and do
not install the email scanning feature of that program.
