Is it possible to disable Windows XP synchronization
manager altogether for all users on a Windows XP client
machine? Can it be uninstalled somehow? Or is there a
service that can be disabled?

By selecting "Ask me before synchronizing..." in the Synchronizing
Settings dialong box, you can ensure that Windows XP never synchronizes
files without your permission.
 
This would be great if you could do this before a sysprep because
synchMGr is causing be great pains with my redirected folders onto a
netware share.
