Synchronization Manager and XP Home

Does the Synchronization Manager in XP Home allow files
present on a remote server to be synchronised with a
local copy? The help implies that it can be but I can't
get it to work.

What I am trying to achieve is to have a folder shared on
a desktop PC running XP Home synchronised with a laptop
also running XP Home when it is connected to the
network. I can share the folder OK but I can't add it to
the list of files shown in Sychronization Manager,
despite having tried everything in the XP help page.
What I am trying to achieve is "offline files" which is
talked about as an option on the XP Home help page. A
lot of web pages though say that "offline files" are only
an XP Pro feature.

Help please!

Syncronization manager in XP Home is only for Web sites.. Offline
file functionality only works on XP Pro edition.
