Synchronization and Workiing Offline files

Kelvin

I can't seem to get Synchronization and Offline Files to work the way I
need.

I have been in the habit of moving my users My Documents to the file server
so they can be backed up...
I also put their Outlook PST file in a folder called Outlook under the My
Documents folder.
I know that XP will not synchronize PST and other database files... So I
want everything but the Outlook folder to synchronize.

I have done the Ctl-Shift Delete Files to reset the Cache.
Do I need to delete the Offline files also.

Since it makes everything to be synchronized, I thought I could right mouse
click on the Outlook folder and just uncheck Make Available Offlline but
that option is grayed out.

I just want to synchronize the folder I want to synchronize...

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks

Kelvin

You can in fact use pst file in offline mode:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/252509

However, BE AWARE that using pst files on a network drive and especially
offline is not supported by Microsoft and can VERY quickly and VERY often
result in a corrupted pst file.
My advice (having done this) is NOT to use a pst file either on a network
drive and/or offline....

Hi, Kelvin,

Have you asked this in microsoft.public.windows.file_system? That group may
be able to help you.

Two users at my office use a "logoff" script in group policy that will
run a robocopy job to back them up...
