I am attempting to synch my handspring to outlook and i
get messages:

no default mail client or current mail client can not
fulfill messaging request...
run outlook and set it as default mail client.

How do I do this??

I use a Handspring TREO 300. They only way I've been able to get it to
effectively sync to Outlook is by using a 3rd party application:
Intellisync Desktop. I've been using it about 1 year and it's worked
very well.

I am supporting 7 treo's - 4 300's and 3 600's. I have never had a
problem getting them to sync with Outlook BUT we do not sync email,
just contacts, calendar, etc. For email we use sprint business
connection - personal and it works fairly well. It allows you to send
and receive email from your treo ( no signature though, bummer ). The
catch is that you have to have a pc running their software with outlook
setup on it sitting there forwarding the mail out to the treo. AND you
have to have the "pcs vision" option on.

I would like to use snapper mail, but it does not do IMAP yet and our
server will not do any form of POP3....

I woudl suggest you look at http://www.treocentral.com for more info
in the discussions especially
