Sync Toy Folder

I'm using Sync Toy to backup new data to an external drive (H). I've moved
'My Documents to internal drive 'F'. My folder pair (or at least one of
them) is 'Drive F to Drive H'. I'm using 'contribute' and have excluded the
SyncToy data folder from the drive F tree.
However, Sync Toy always copies this Folder to drive H but fails with an
error message that it can't copy the log file as it's in use. I thought that
deselecting this folder would prevent this action but it doesn't

Any answers anyone please

i think that sync toy is an excellent tool for the basic folders and files.
however, when it comes to system files and programs, either disk imaging,
replication or backup should be used instead of synctoy.

Hi,

You seem to have misunderstood my posting.

I'm trying to syncronise ONLY My Documents folder which has been moved to
Drive F by the official Microsfot method and so is a basic folder containing
basic files. My Documents (on Drive F) is where Synctoy insists on putting
its own folder. It's this folder (SyncToy Data) that I'm trying to eliminate
during the copy action but as I said it keeps on including it.

The fact that my Left hand folder is in fact a complete drive (with one
folder excluded) should be academic.
