SYNC PROBLEMS WITH VISTA

My MDA Compact PocketPC only seems to want to sync with Media Player.

It used to sync with Outlook and update my calendar etc... anyone got any
ideas?

It was working fine 3 days ago, then I had to reinstall Vista and now it
only syncs with Media Player.

I am reading about many problems with pocket pc's and mobile devices. After
fighting with my Mobile 5.0 iPaq I just discovered VISTA does not support
this device. Not good. Luckily it is a company device so I can just "turn it
in" but still...seems a MS product should work with another MS product.

Install Windows Mobile Device Center from Windows Update.

I posted about the trouble I was having with my Palm handheld, it wasn't
syncing all my information.

"Close it out from the task bar then right-click on
the icon/properties/compatibility and put a checkmark next to the Windows XP
box then restart the HotSync manager"

It works, except in my calender my catagories aren't synced, they all remane
'unfiled' which I can work with. It's a lot better than not having any info
at all.

Don't know if it will help you, it's worth a try though I think if your
handheld is an MS product, they should have a patch for it like the other
poster suggested.

Windows Mobile Device Centre defaults to synchronising with Microsoft
Exchange. To sync with the calendar etc. on your pc go to Mobile Device
Settings on the device centre then hit 'Change Content Sync Settings' and
chose your local pc to sync with.
I found that I had to minimise the number of links for it to work, so I
unchecked all of the links except calendar and e-mail and did those first. I
was then able to add the rest progressively.

I don't think I have that program with my Vista Home Premium, I can't find
it.
