Sync between WM6 and BCM 2007?

Hi y'all,
It seemed there are more and more people asking how to sync between their
Mobile Windows 6 devices with the BCM 2007...
This too has made me anxious and also worry about purchasing a new
smartphone based on Windows Mobile 6, because I wish to carry my BCM 2007
whenever and wherever I go...
Are there any problems with the sync? And work around it?

The MS released sync solution works reliably. The only problem is with its
limited design features. It syncs your separate BCM Business Contacts folder
on your PC only to a separate Business Contacts program folder on your device.
These separate Business contacts on your device have no caller ID or quick
dial look up like the the regular synced Outlook contacts do. MS seems
actually proud of this accomplishment and the assumption that all users wish
to have this separation and limited functionality on their mobile device.

Sadly, the current state of syncronization with BCM to WM devices remains an
uncoordinated bureaucratic complexity from MS.

It is a sad news indeed... Because I really planning to purchase a Treo 750
(which has WM6 in it) to use it with my BCM 2007.
May I ask what kind of WM device do you use currently?
And what else of the sync backdraw you experienced?

The Treo 750 works great. I am awaiting Palm's newest uber geek device yet
to come hopefully soon. This WM Treo (800?) is to be released hopefully soon
with WM6 included. I use Vista Business on my Toshiba Tablet. The 3rd party
sync program just adds additional conduits. It still uses the Vista Sync
Center. You are simply enabling the abilitiy to sync additional folders that
can then send more data across to your mobile device. I have tried to learn
to like using the free MS BCM sync program for WM but I simply refuse to have
such limited look up and dialing functionality missing from them in contrast
to how robust the native Outlook contacts work on the Treo.

launch a new product at 2008 but not this year. There's a good news, Engadget
writers have wrote a letter to Palm about how they should improve their next

Yes, Pocket Mirror works very well. It brings all of the BCM Business
Contacts over and puts them all together with the regular Outlook contacts
into only ONE place on the mobile device. You can then utilize all of the
quick look up and caller ID functionality. I believe that they have a free
trial or refund policy. Try it out and see how it works for you. If you
don't like it for some reason you can always go back. I have not used the
newer Folder Mirror solution but I know several who have and they like it a
lot. Chapura has a very good reputation for getting things to work right.
Their support is also legendary among mobile geeks.

I'm using a Treo 700wx and hate the MS BCM mobile interface as well. Do I
remove the mobile BCM prog when using Pocket Mirror?

in ONE place on my windows mobile 6 phone (so i can search, etc). But it
puts them in a seperate folder.

you're right. For some reason the mapping functionality within Chapura was
not displaying, but after a re-install on another computer it has done so.
And now all my contacts are in one folder allowing me to search, etc.

But i will say the syncing is very slow (it was much faster with my Palm
device). Even after i sync once, the second sync seems to take just as long
about 30 min for 5,000 contacts. what has your experience been?

Also i never tried the Windows Mobile update that supposedy provides you to
sycn business contacts, but does it place them in another contact folder, not
allowing you to search, caller ID, etc?

I am not clear about your comments. Am I confused and missing something?
Pocket Mirror DOES indeed put your BCM contacts into only ONE place on your
WM 6 phone. The BCM contacts are included right alongside with any of your
native Outlook contacts inside of only the Pocket Outlook dialing application
on your smart phone. They are only designated differently by a special
category identifier that pocket mirror assigns to the BCM Contact indicating
it as such. The MS BCM mobile application in contrast requires an entirely
separate application and location on your phone device from the native, stand
alone Outlook contact records.
