Symbols beneath slide numbers on slide tab in 2007

What do the symbols signify that are shown under certain slide numbers on the
slide tab and also under slides in slide sorter view? It appears to be
several short horizontal lines with a 5 point star next to the lines.

These indicate that an animation and/or a transition has been applied to
that slide.
