Symantec worm removal tool

Why would I get the Microsoft Error Reporting Tool saying that I have an
error in appcompat.txt when I run the Symatec worm removal tool ? I have
run this tool from the desktop in regular windows mode and safe mode.

What am I doing wrong?
 
I don't know why you are getting the error message but
you could try this tool:
This is a link to a scan and remove program
from McAfee. It won't hurt any machine
to run it. Click on "Download Stinger.exe"
