Symantec Ghost problem Restoring XP on Emachine

My daughter's eMachine computer's hard drive crashed. eMachine sent
her a new one and I attempted to install it for her. When I try to
load the XP Retore cd that came with her computer, an error message
comes up from Ghost about not being able to find a file on R:\ I
believe and doesn't perform the restore. I'm not sure where this is
coming from as I have never had a problem restoring a new hard drive
on a system before.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you using a copy of ghost that is on the restore cd or a seperate copy?
It may be that the restore CD is damaged or has a smear on it. Another
possibility is that ghost was not run with options required by the restore
cd.

The last time I saw this sort of thing was with an HP laptop and the (of all
things) french copy of ghost included on the restore CD. Evidently the ghost
version was intended to prevent or discourage stand alone use on a US
English. System. It was due to an option that was not used when ghost was
run manually. Ghost was normally run from or with a batch or "command" file
specified by the invoking program.
