Sygate Firewall won't auto start

I have the free version of sygate firewall.
After I downloaded the last update, about 3 weeks ago, I have to manually
start it every time I start my machine.
There is a check mark in "automatically load sygate at start up".
I also checked the settings in msconfic and there is a check mark next to
sygate there too.
I don't have a check mark where it says "hide sygate system tray icon"

The only way to launch it is to do it manually!

If you still have your original installer program, try uninstalling it with
Control Panel > Add or remove programs.

Then reinstall (& reupdate if you feel you need to & see if the same
problem recurs)
