Firewall

I used to have Sygate firewall installed but now have a hardware firewall
that is part of my router. When I turn off Windows Firewall, it says that
Sygate firewall is enabled. Now, I know that this isn't true because it has
been uninstalled and another firewall had been installed and also
uninstalled.

Does anyone have any explanation for this behaviour and what can be done
about it?

Sometimes in order to uninstall a program, you have to reinstall it
first. Make sure you do the uninstall from Add/Remove programs.

I have gone that route and it cleaned up most but not all of the program. I
also used the "cccleaner" but still no luck. I finally found instructions
in Sygate that involved some heavy editing of the registry and the deleting
of files. This finally worked and Sygate is finally gone.

Thanks for your help

Tried it but no luck. I did after much searching I found 4 pages of
detailed instructions from Sygate on the removal of this product....no
simple to say the very least but it did work.

Thanks for your suggestion.
