Switching Start Menu User

I recently reinstalled XP PRO and my Start Menu is named "Administrator" but
all my previous program settings were for "User." That includes the Start
Menu, All Programs, and Desktop Icons. If I can change back to "User"
instead of "Administrator" I might have everything the way it was. Can I do
it? How?

Don't use the Administrator account for normal use.
Make another account, and transfer the settings, or just copy the files from
one folder structure to the other.

Good idea. That's what I want to do, switch from Administrator to User. How
do I do that?

Create an account named user or whatever name you want such as JohnB.
"User" was just an arbitrary account name. You should not use the built in
"Administrator" account for day to day activities. That should be reserved
in case some problems arise that corrupt the normal working account.

From Start | Help and Support search on accounts to for info on how to
create and configure user accounts or see these links:

I copied the contents of the Desktop folder and Start Menu folder in
Documtents and Settings\User and I copied a Program folder to the Start Menu
all to the "Administrator" folder in Doc and Settings and I now have all my
desktop icons I want. In All Programd I must yet delete the duplicates, In
Control Panes\User Accounts I see only "Administrator" and "John" and not
"User." Therefore I can't change the name in the Start Menu. I can
copy/paste but I won't cut or delete folders or files.
Thanks everyone for their help.
