Switching off Automatic updates permanently

whenever im connecting to net ,the automatic updates starts immediately
and so i went to the control panel and turned it off.. but this feature
is automatically turned on.. and i even tried to delete the automatic
updater in the windows directory but that too failed. plz provide me a
solution to stop the automatic updates permanently.

Hi

You can try this if you really do want to turn AU off.

From Start>Run type

services.msc

then right click on the AU Service and select Stop. Then right click again
and select Properties and set the Startup type to 'Disabled'. Reboot your
system.
