Daughter has Home SP2, but I want to switch hers to XP Pro. Unfortunately my
install disk for this is only the XP Pro SP1 version. After install, I would
then update/download to get her new XP Pro up to SP2. How do I do this
install safely from Home SP2 to Pro SP1?

Do you have a second license for XP Pro for the second installation?
If you already used the XP Pro license one one computer, than you'll
have to purchase a second license for installation on your daughter's
computer.

If you already have a retail copy of Windows XP, you can obtain
additional licenses for another computer or laptop by visiting the
following Microsoft Web site:
http://shop.microsoft.com/special/wal/walinfo.asp

Make a new Windows XP Pro CD with SP2 slipstreamed
and then perform the upgrade with the new CD.

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)

Incorrect. If it's been 120 days since FIRST activation it will work fine.
Microsoft is trying to get you to buy more licenses than you need.

Each computer you install Windows XP on requires it own unique
license (Product Key). The 120 day period is immaterial to this
licensing stipulation.
