Swapping Mouse Buttons

Have a Notebook PC and an external mouse. Can "swap"
left and right buttons on touch pad but not on external
mouse. Any ideas?

On my system I go to control panel, click on Mouse and set it up the way I
want. Yours may be different, depending on what mouse and it's software you
have installed.

The box in Control Panel Mouse to swap mouse buttons
is "grayed out" and can't be used. Other ideas?
