svchost.exe keeps launching IExplorer - result of adware being installed

I accidentally installed adware on my system when using IExplorer
(pressed the yes button for a certificate request). I was able to
remove all adware apps which got installed, but one problem continues
to persist. There seems to be some service which got installed, which
periodically (10min intervals) keeps launching headless IExplorers in
the background. There are four svchost programs on my system, but only
one (C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost -k rpcss) keeps launching them. I
would be thankful if any win32 gurus out there could advice me as to
where I should be looking to remove this service, or whatever
configuration which causes this periodic execution.
