Windows slow to load and ultra slow to shut-down

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what programs or services associated with
programs causes my Windows XP to be sluggish (which I suspect is the
cause) during start up and shut down/restart. Also when accessing the
start menu, very slow to expand sub categories.
Below is a list of services and start up programs, any suggestions to
deny start up or/and services to stop?

Hi, Sam.

Which services do you really need ... it depends.
From what you posted, you're in some sort of network.
For a hint on what you need, try looking up the dependencies in
services.msc. Then determine which basic services are needed to communicate
in the network; probably the net admin will know.
More often than not about half of the services can be disabled, then.
Then, try this: try moving files that are not personal & do not belong to a
software installed to a disk away from the boot drive. Empty the bin & inet
cache. Defrag the dard disk about 3 - 4 times until there are large chunks of
free space. Then set Virtual mem to 'fixed' at the win recommended size (or a
bit more). Download BootVis from microsoft & run it.
Probably now the sys will run smoother now.
