svchost.exe - Application Error

On the WS WinNT 4.0 network I administrate, I have many
PCs among which there are now more than 10 PCs running MS
Win2000 Pro SP2 and SP4. They have an antivirus protection
thanks to the Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.1
which viruses definitions are regularly updated.
The problem I encounter is that while a user is working,
there is a first dialog box that appears
labelled "svchost.exe - Application Error"; the content of
that dialog box says that "The instruction at 0xe03c3a68
uses the memory address 0xe03c3a68. The memory cannot be
read". Then, the user is prompted to click either the "OK"
button (to terminate the program running) or the "Cancel"
button (to debbug the program). The second dialog box that
appears labelled "Application Error" says "svchost.exe has
generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You should
restart the program. An errors log is being created". The
user is this time prompted to click a button "OK".
This very boring and shocking situation would occur many
times in an hour as soon as the PC is on and especially
when MS Excel 2000 is running, and clicking the
button "OK" would close MS Excel leading to the loss of
the user's unsaved data and information.
Besides, once this has happen or even not, the system
becomes unstable (it would not be possible to view
correctly the content of a drive, a folder or any other
window you are browsing. The icons inside would appear
verticaly on a sub-piece of the window) until you restart
the whole computer thus the OS.
So please, can you help? Many thanks in advance.

Hi all you need to Do on each PC or unit is go to
Nortons.com and Get the W32. Blaster worm for windows 2000
When you download and run the Blaster worm utility, you
will be rid of that annoying Msg of SVC host.exe Trust me
on this Ive had the same problem, and your Regular Virus
protection will not pickup the Blaster Worm on a Virus
Scan,
in short it will drive you crazy untill you use the Fix
utility for win 2000 for the W32.Blaster worm, Please
email me back and let me know how you do.
Bobby
