svchost error cause xp shutdown

my xp pro. keep being shutdown because of the svchost
error, even after I reinstalled the operation system
(choose upgrade). I had mcafee virusscan installed, and I
had used mcafee's stinger.exe to search for worm, but
nothing was found.

Did anybody get some idea about this?
