Svchost 100% cpu usage

Hi,
A program called svchost consumes too many resources
about 60% causing my cpu usage to climb to 100%. I
checked for viruses. I work on a 500mhz pentium 3 cpu
with all updates and service packs installed for xp.
Can you help me solve this problem?

ALso alot of times viruses/worms will use the svchost.
Now it is not uncommon to have multiple svchost processes
running but when they start consuming alot of resources
like yorus then you need to wory.
Run a virus scan with up to date definitions.
Install and run Ad-Aware & SpyBot & Hi-Jack this.
