svchost & wuauclt - 100% CPU

Hi Folks,

My dad has Dell Celeron that I am trying to fix for him. Its running VERY
slow,
with 100% CPU usage.

I began to investigate and using sysinternals Process Explorer I found that
a particular
copy of svchost that was running was causing the trouble (when I kill it the
CPU goes down
to about 4/5%).

LSASS was also taking a lot of CPU time but its the killing of svchost that
seem to fix the
problem- maybe they are related or something? I dunno.

For those of you familar with process explorer will know that it has a tree
like structure, well hanging
off the branch for this offending svchost is wuauclt.exe. Killing
wuauclt.exe before svchost did
not fix the problem.

I am a little stumped now at what to do to fix the problem? I now that
windows needs svchost,
so what do I do?
