Super 8 film tranfer to miniDV ?

How would you suggest I transfer some old Super 8 film (no sound) to my
MiniDV.

I still have a working projector and a screen.

So I was thinking of setting up in a darken room, and mounting my camcorder
on a tripod, zoom in and frame as best as I can, and tape the film.

My camera (Canon ZR85) does not have an external mike connector, so it will
pick up the projector noises.

I was planning of replacing the noise with music soundtrack, in editing
(with Pinnacle Studio)

Is this the best way ???

Any other ideas ?

Thanks

I'll bet if you did a Google search you could find a company that will
convert your Super8 movies to a VHS tape or a DVD.

Go to EBAY, And in the Search Box type in VIDEO TRANSFER and you
will see the tool That is used to do what you want to Do...

It is a mirror type Box !
I wish I had bought one Back in the 80's when they were advertised for
$19.95

Depending on the quiality you may be able to get away wioth recording it in
a darkened room. It will need to be a small picture, about 8x6, use manual
focus on the cam, man white balance first, use white matt card not a
projector screen, don't worry about the sound you can edit it out later, or
there should be an option in the menu to turn off sound recording on the
cam. The main problem you will have is the cine will run at 18fps or less
and the cam at 25fps or 29.97, which will mean you will have some flicker
similar to recording a tv screen.
