I have a canon mv600 dv camcorder, I've captured and edited a movie with movie maker, now i am trying to put it back onto the dv camcorder tape
I follow all the procedure requested to do in order to complete my project, the computer seems to be going through the motions, and even tells me that it is recording onto the tape in my dv device ,when it finishes and i confirm it finished, the programme returns to normal and without even a noise coming from the dv camera of course has not re-recorded anything back to the tape.........ohhh please please please help me

Hi,

There are several possible causes. You will need to do a
little investigative work to figure out what went wrong.
When you save to your DV camcorder, MM2 actually first
saves the movie to a temporary location on your computer
HD, then transfers the temporary file to your DV
camcorder.

You can split this task into two steps, in order to
troubleshoot, by first saving the edited movie to your
computer, as a DV-AVI file. If this works, then you can
transfer the DV-AVI file to your camcorder using a free
utility called WinDV. PapaJohn has a link to the site
for this free software on his website www.papajohn.org.

Try the above two steps with a small test video project.
After this works, try saving your project the same way.
Hope this helps you.

Dave

According to canon this model does not have dv-in, which of course will be
the problem!!

Hi there,

Graham yes you are right...I got the version with an "i" at the end of the
model number more through blind luck thatn anything else. I don't know why
canon do that little trick...they are so closely priced that anyone "in the
know" would by the version with DV-In anyway...the cost at Dixons (Gatwick
Duty Free) was only a few pounds......very odd.
