My e mail account (blueyonder) has been working OK since I bought computer
with Windows Vista in January. In past week I have stopped receiving e
mails, although I can access them at my e mail providers website.

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them cause assorted
Problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

Also, it can help to use your e mail providers website to delete the oldest
message you have not been able to receive.

If you get any error messages when trying to receive mail, right click on
them and copy them into your next message.

This week My Vista Windows email quit receiving emails. I get this error
message. "
"An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'my email', Server:
'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error
Number: 0x80004005"

I amd beta testing VIPRE antivirus, but have not had any problems with email
ever. I checked the settings and they appear fine

Thankd All

As part of the beta test, try uninstalling the VIPRE antivirus and see if
this helps the problem. If so, complain about this to the company it came
from. The beta tests of most versions of the Norton and McAfee
antivirus programs, and a recent version of the Trend antivirus program,
didn't detect the problems they cause in Windows Mail in time, or were
ignored. Also, you might ask for the option to install it without the part
that scans email, since some other antivirus programs occasionally cause
problems in Windows Mail if you don't use such an option.

Also see if this leads you to any instructions that help:

Strangely enough, I've been getting this error myself, on one of my four
AT&T Yahoo email accounts. I tried all the usual fixes, but no luck.
It appears to be a server error. Searching through recent posts here,
I found this:

"I just called SBC Yahoo and it is a known Yahoo issue, the Tech Support
Specialist had to create an archive on the webserver and store the e-mails
there and then send them back. It cleared up the error message and 4 days
of e-mails started coming through. Hope this helps someone else.
SBC Yahoo Tech Support 1-877-722-3755. "

I haven't had time to call tech support, but this may help someone else.
