sudden change in keyboard function only in Vista email

Vista system.
My keyboard does not function as it did all along. A sudden change occurred
so that now I can type a ? here in this message, but it appears as an e with
an accent on it in my own Windows mail. That is just one example. Several
keys do this, while the "e" 's are perfectly normal English.

I have checked both the individual message language setting and the overall
Windows mail language setting. Both set at Canadian (US) English.

Did I hit a wrong key? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try Control Panel | Clock, Language and Regional Settings.

Thanks. As I said, I did that. Also, the keyboard was working fine all
along until recently. However, the good news is that by rebooting is went
back to its original state. We are not sure what key if any we hit that
effected this change. Thanks again.
