Can't get Windows mail to use UK English for spellcheck

I had to reinstall Vista Home Premium and obviously hit NEXT once too often
because my machine came up localised for the US not the UK. After changing
everything I can find in the Regional and Language Options control panel to
English-UK, making it the default language in Word and deleting English-US
as an installed keyboard, Word now spell checks in UK English (although
English (US) still comes first in the tools\language\set language dialogue
and I can't figure out how to change that.) I have flipped the spelling
language in Mail to French and back several times since doing all this. My
problem is that Windows mail still spell checks in US not UK English. Any
ideas how I can make it behave properly?

TIA

So far, you can't, and Microsoft isn't likely to add the capability to do
it.
You might want to think of switching to the newer Microsoft
email/newsreader program, Windows Live Mail, which can, although
this option is hidden. Windows Live Mail can take over any accounts
Windows Mail can handle, in addition to adding the capability to have
some kinds of HTTP accounts.

You can get the information on how to use English UK and a few
other kinds of English in newsgroup:

WinMail uses its own speller and it does not include UK English; only US.
Office uses a different set of spellers.
