Subnets without NAT

Alex

Hi...

Can u use "fake" ip-adresses as 192.168.x.x behind a firewall NOT using NAT?

Today we have a subnet with "real" adresses, and I want to expand to another
subnet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Alex

as long as they stay on your lan you can do anything you want with that
range. they just can't be used on the internet. nat would only be needed
if you wanted a lan machine to have access to the internet, or to be
accessed from the internet.

Only if you don't need them to be able to access the Internet. If you want
these clients to be able to access the Internet you will either need a NAT
device or the clients will need valid Internet IP addresses.
