submitting bug reports

Nate

I had problems submitting a bug report on MSFT Spyware.
Details follow:

Under Tools ... Suspected Spyware Report ...

1. PROBLEM 1 - Internet proxy setting

When I go to submit I get a message "An error occurred
submitting the scan results. Please check you Internet
proxy settings and try again."

[Note the "you" above is not a typo on my part - it may
be a wordsmithing opportunity for MSFT.]

I am not sure how to check the proxy settings and do not
want to mess up my PC.

2. PROBLEM 2 - Unable to easily list multiple bugs in
one report

Under the Description of Problem Field, I am not able to
hit "enter" and provide a list of items (file names) to
report (e.g., c:/windows/system32/exdl.exe, De149.exe,
etc).

Nate - I don't believe your network is broken, so you've shown good sense in
not looking at your settings and trying to fix them. I believe this is a
bug in the product--I can submit such a report successfully from my home
machine, but every once in a while it will fail with that same error
message, and other machines I've seen fail instantly and continually--so I
think it is a bug.

I don't have a workaround for you.

FWIW, here's what such a report generates as one result:

https://www.spynet.com/spywarescan_results.aspx?ScanID=1c6808c2-f258-4c03-8871-a6d560941d7c

Bugs should be posted here with as much clear detail to allow someone to
replicate the problem on another machine as possible.
