Unable to submit suspected spyware report

I use MSAS tools to create a suspected spyware report.
Scan completes successfully. When I hit the "submit"
botton I get back a message "An error occurred submitting
the scan results. Please check you Internet proxy
settings and try again." I am not using a proxy...
connected directly to ISP... what do I need to do? (Step
by step instructions would be appreciated).

I can't give you a step-by-step because I've never seen a solution to this
one. I can say that it works, most of the time, on several systems I've
tried it on, and that it could be related to a software firewall app, but
may well not be--I view it as a bug, but I'm not sure I've heard any
confirmation of that from Microsoft.

Hi Bill,
You wrote:

An observation on that point:
I only run Windows firewall, and that, pretty much at
default settings; yet I have never once been able to
submit a report - the 'proxy settings' message,
instantaneous every time.
56k modem and straighforward dial-up connection to ISP.

"I view it as a bug" :)

Yep--not the Windows firewall, in any case, since it doesn't regulate
outbound traffic (the help file for Microsoft Antispyware notwithstanding!)
Other software firewalls record executables with permission to send outbound
traffic. This can be a Good Thing, or too much information/regulation,
according to your tastes.
