subfrom on a subform - Access 2007

I'm receiving #name? on a subform on a subform in Access 2007.

The subform on a subform works great in Access 2000, 2002, and 2003.

Any idea where I can go to fix this? It's not an invalid name or anything
like that.

I receive the message - "control can't be edited; it's bound to unknown
field "namefrommydatabase".

That's bull!!! The name exists in my database, the form works stand alone,
and works fine as a subform.

The issues seems to be related to two levels of subforms. Form with a
subform that has subforms.

Any ideas?

I've learned that this is called nested.

I still have no clue why I'm receiving #name?

Well, I recreated the form in Access 2007 and nested subforms worked.

Now I'm really concerned. I took an Access 2000 base MDB and ran it in
Access 2007. The nested subforms did not work. When I recreated the form
with the subforms it works. NICE - NOT!! I just don't get it. Why?

For the moment, I'm not very happy with Access 2007. Things that work well
in Access 2000, 2002, and 2003 are not working so well in Access 2007. This
is almost like the switch from Access 97 to Access 2000. I'm not looking
forward to the idea of keeping two copies of my database. That's a
nightmare. And, while I'm at it, the ribbon is a pain in the butt. It
takes up a lot of real estate, built in menus are in the "add-in" tab (a
royal pain in the butt because it takes multiple clicks), and programming
the ribbon can no longer be database driven. Please, change future version
of Access to allow menus and a way to turn off the ribbon.

Any thoughts on why subforms from an Access 2000 based MDB would not work in
Access 2007?

I don't have an answer, Rick, but I am getting a possibly related problem. I have nested subforms and everything has worked fine in previous versions of Access. Now in Access2007, there is a problem deleting records at the second level of subform - and the third level too

Deletion is done by selecting the record (a row) and hitting delete key. The record disappears in the normal way. But when I close the form and come back later, the record has not been deleted.

If I find the answer to this one, I'll come back and let you know, in case the problems are related.
