Sub-calendar sharing?

I have created multiple calendars, and want to share specific ones.

MS Online advises "A subfolder within your Calendar folder—not shared unless
you choose to do that", yet Office Outlook Help states "You can only open the
default Outlook folders for each item type. For example, if a person has
created an additional calendar, you can only open the default calendar."

If I am reading these correctly they seem to be contradictory? I have given
permission (right click, permission levels, etc) to those that I require to
have permission to access my other calendars, yet when they try to open these
only my "default" calendar seems to be accessable.

How do I achieve shared "other" calendars?

Forgot to mention I'm using Outlook 2003, and also that I am using Exchange
server.

To access a shared folder that isn't one of the folders listed on the File | Open | Other User's Folder dialog, the mailbox owner needs to grant Reviewer permission to the root of the mailbox, as well as appropriate permission on the folder.

The user who needs access then goes into Tools | E-mail Accounts or Tools | Services (depending on the Outlook version), brings up the properties for the Exchange Server service, and on the Advanced tab, adds the mailbox.

For more information on folder permissions, with how-to screen shots, see http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/permissions.htm and http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/preview.aspx?AssetID=HA011134811033
