Styles and TOC

Help please.

I have set up a template for a long document.

Section Title
Chapter.1 (. denotes space)
"Chapter" is given a Heading 2 style with zero formatting
other than the base text.
..1 is given base text formatting so it will not appear in
the ToC.
The word Chapter appears without the .1 in the ToC which
is perfect but...when I run the template as a .doc and
update the ToC, Chapter is now underlined in both the
body of the document and the ToC! Underlining is not
selected in the Heading 2 style nor the ToC style. I can
turn it off manually but at each ToC update it
reappears. There is no underlining hidden in the
paragraph marks before and after the heading 2 style.
Also, this is the only text in the template that is
formatted as heading 2. I have tried everything I can
think of to fix this issue with no sucess.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

G'day "Rekoop" <[email protected]>,

Go into the numbering format for the heading, and choose Font. Ensure
underline is deselected. If that doesn't work, select your heading
paramark and press ctrl+space to return it to default formatting.

Thanks...Got it! Underline was not selected but the
ctrl_Space allowed by to see a buried format...
